The fourth East African Telecentre Leaders Forum (EA-TLF) is slated for October 22nd – November 9th 2007 in Kampala, Uganda. The event to be hosted by UgaBYTES Initiative is to run in two phases; the online session on the UgaBYTES mailing list from October 22 - 2 November 2007 and the face-to face session from 8th-9th November 2007 in Kampala. The theme for the sessions is; ‘Social Enterprise: Finding new solutions to sustaining telecentres’.
“The sessions will be guided by subject matter specialists to foster learning and sharing knowledge within the sub region and beyond key telecentre issues,” UgaBYTES director Sulah Ndaula said. The EA-TLF is a bi annual East African telecentre event within the sub region focusing on different themes. The event is part of the global framework of telecentre.org, a collaborative initiative funded by International Development Research Centre(IDRC), Microsoft and Swiss Agency for Developemnt and Cooperation. The gathering is focused at facilitating learning and sharing of ideas and solutions among telecentre practitioners. As such the EA-TLF uses open space facilitation methods – in which every participant is a learner and facilitator.
Telecentre practitioners in the sub region are encouraged to contact the following National network leaders who are charged with selecting national participants to the event, who will be facilitated by the organizers.
