5th EATLF: Register Now; Deadline 7th April

The EATLF is a knowledge sharing platform for Eastern African countries that occurs twice a year. It is hosted by different regional countries on a rotational basis focusing on different themes.
Call for participation
Invitation is open, for participation until April 7th 2008.
The 5th EATLF venue has been strategically selected to allow easy and strong participation from Eastern African and Mid East countries including; Somalia, Ethiopian, Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan, Egypt, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi. Other countries outside the region that have so far registered representation include Canada, South Africa
and Mozambique.
In the previous four events participants have come from Chile, Canada, USA, UK, Sweden, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda including both practitioner and development partners.
Registration
Registration fee is US$ 90 for Eastern African participants and US$ 150 for participants from other countries. Please contact the secretariat@ugabytes.org for details.
30 full board scholarships for accommodation and 15 for air tickets will be available for Eastern African participants for early registrants.
Self sponsored participants; please note that full board accommodation has been negotiated to US$ 130 per day. But limited places are available for early registrants. However, free transport between Khartoum and Gadaref
city has been arranged for all participants.
Organizational Support
Development partners who would like to support a participant or part of participants’ costs should notify secretariat@ugabytes.org for a special mention.
So far the event is supported by telecentre.org an initiative of IDRC, Microsoft and SDC, Gadaref Digital City Organization and UgaBYTES.
Highlights
This 5th EATLF will be co-hosted by UgaBYTES http://www.ugabytes.org and Gadaref Digital City organization http://gedaref.com/index.php?lang=ar.
The event will be preceded by a two weeks online session between April 7th and 22nd 2008, which will be open for global participation. The event will also have side-by-side exhibition of telecentre work, new technology and regional service providers’ products. The Sudan Telecentre Network will be launched in the event.
