Telecentre Academy: Firsts steps around the globe.

Telecentre Academy is a global initiative that is starting to be visible thanks to the hard work of telecentre.org partners around the world. By next October ten countries will establish their own National Academies and telecentre.org will launch the Global Telecentre Academy aimed to train telecentre managers from all corners of the world.

Governments and/or institutions from Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Sudan, Egypt, Spain, India, Philippines, and Mozambique are working right now towards the final goal: to train one million telecentre managers around the world by the year 2010.

Telecentre Networking: Empowering Communities in Egypt

Telecentre.org is excited to announce the recent approval of the "Empowering Communities through Telecentre Networking" project that will create a Central IT Club Entity (CITCE) in Egypt. This two-year project will support current efforts by the Government of Egypt through the ICT Trust Fund and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to develop a vibrant telecentre community.

From School to Telecentres: OLPC reaches Uruguayan telecentres

The Uruguayan network of telecentres - RUTELCO, telecentre.org partner in this country - will collaborate with the Uruguayan government to implement the national One Laptop per Child (OLPC) initiative intended to reach every single child in public schools and now also every single telecentre in the country.
