telecentre.org

Thank Floro
It's a good idea to get more people to get involved in defining the space of telecentre.org. In my point of view telecentre.org is more than a website or a social network;its a melting pot for new ideas and people working together to make TC movement more beneficial to human kind.

Five years is long time, but it will arrive tomorrow!

1. How will we increase inclusion of all nations in Telecenter Movement ? What strategies we would use to get the grass roots involved in telecentre.org

2. How will we increase interaction of telecentre.org members to maximize participation and collaboration ?

3. How can we become more democratic, sharing and influence the other communities to take interest in Telecenter concepts

Thanks

Hello Niranjan Meegammana

projectbrainsaver offers what you need. If we are lucky we will soon have speech technology worldwide which will allow anyone who can speak to achieve what they are trying to.

The project is based on one Cambridge, UK, company's research - all started by a computer wizard called Mike Lynch, the company is Autonomy and their range of unstructured data technology copes with all of the points you enquired about - you would have to talk to me or read about projectbrainsaver on its website but, by using voice as the main means of communicating suddenly all places with access to a phone of any sort become places where single individuals can safely join in with a help centre that caters to their needs. If the telecentres are using virtual technology and cloud based systems it allows each TC (especially if they are acting as a neworked hub) to offer anything that can be done by a computer - from simple letter writing to complex calculations, from data storage to translation, any programme that has been written for any computer can be worked when the full set up is in place - soon, I hope - I need it for a number of personal reasons - Autonomy technology can be easily educated because it can take in rules that apply to different things - from different languages to a country's laws or the windows programming language or, whatever.
Autonomy has technology like their Intelligent Data Operating Layer or IDOL that understands all data coming into a company however it comes in and can sort it out and help people work with it so that more comes out of worth and value.
using this on a personal level allows an individual to focus more resources onto a matter and aid it's passage with focused help regarding knowledge and judgment in a complex society.

This is business technology but easily adapts to personal use. All it needs is people to say they would like it and they can have it - Chances are that it is coming along over the next few years any way - For telecentres and the people who live lives involved in all that telecentre's help with, being able to just talk and get things done will be lovely!!

Here's to a good day and a good tomorrow

projectbrainsaver just shows how this could work and how to put it together cost effectively - what it gets used for will be up to the brains and mouths of individuals and groups (-: You don't have to join in with anything just to have one of these voice powered bits of kit - someone just has to build the first one! Let me know if you hear of one (-:
