Intel and LAC sign agreement to benefit digital literacy learners
Intel Corporation and the Network of Networks of Telecentres of Latin America and the Caribbean (Red de Redes de Telecentros de Latinoamérica y El Caribe) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow for the implementation of the Intel® Easy Steps program in the Latin America region.
The agreement, which is expected to benefit hundreds of digital literacy learners in telecentres across Latin America, is the latest in Intel’s efforts to partner with telecentres in the provision of digital literacy training. Earlier in April, Intel announced its partnership with Telecentre.org Foundation, a non-profit international organization also supporting the Network of Networks of Telecentres of Latin America and the Caribbean. In the agreement, Intel pledged the provision of the Intel® Easy Steps program to Telecentre.org Foundation’s global network of telecentres under the Telecentre Women: Digital Literacy Campaign.
Implementation of the Intel® Easy Steps program in the Latin American region is expected to begin in Colombia, Chile, Salvador, and Peru in 2012 with more countries to be added in the succeeding year.
