Miguel Raimilla appointed as Executive Director
Following an extensive search among several highly qualified candidates, Telecentre.org Foundation is pleased to announce that Miguel Raimilla has been selected as Telecentre.org Foundation’s newest Executive Director.

Miguel Raimilla
Miguel, a Chilean native based in California, is a Social Entrepreneur and the founder of several multinational/multicultural initiatives linked with youth, social development, and social enterprise throughout Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the United States. Among these initiatives are World Corps, OneRoof, and his most recent endeavor, Channel International – all of which encompass the different local expressions of ICT4D worldwide.
Miguel brings to Telecentre.org Foundation more than 17 years of international experience developing non-profit organizations and private companies in the field of ICT4D and telecentres. He has promoted the concept of telecentres in places (and with people and organizations) where it had never been heard of before. Literally creating, running, and managing telecentre units in several countries, Miguel has established a unique perspective of the realities, challenges, and opportunities that telecentres experience on a daily basis. During these years, Miguel has developed local teams, and training content and methodologies, while collaborating with non-profit and governmental programs in many countries.
Says Miguel, “Since 2005, I have witnessed how Telecentre.org has dramatically changed the Telecentre space, empowering many organizations worldwide and creating a sense of global community among thousands of Telecentres and ICT practitioners. Today, Telecentre.org Foundation has much yet to offer. The challenges that lie ahead call for an organization capable of expanding the options of growth and sustainability for telecentres. We will achieve this by creating new alliances and providing ample and meaningful visibility to the work carried out by telecentres around the globe every day. It is with great enthusiasm that I assume the direction of the Telecentre.org Foundation team. I have great confidence that, through our work together, we’ll be able to enhance the collective initiatives of the global telecentre community. More importantly, I will make sure that telecentre networks gain new knowledge, tools, partners, and opportunities, to help them develop and diversify services, ideas, education, and general opportunities which telecentres already strive to provide to millions of people around the globe. I look forward to a rich and dynamic collaboration with the global telecentre community.”
Miguel’s appointment will officially take effect beginning October 3. You can reach him at mraimilla@telecentre.org.
